Why Travel Rajasthan by Car with a Driver?
Rajasthan is a big state. Cities are far apart, and trains or buses do not reach every fort, village or sunset point. A Rajasthan tour by car gives you comfort and freedom.
- You can start early or late as per your mood.
- You can stop for photos, tea or local food on the way.
- You do not worry about parking, traffic or unknown roads.
- It is safe and comfortable for families, couples and senior citizens.
A local driver also knows the best routes, clean food stops and the right time to reach each monument.
Route Overview
This plan covers Jaipur, Pushkar, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Udaipur in 7 days. Total driving is around 1,800 to 1,900 km. If you want a longer, slower trip, you can add 1 or 2 days at Jaisalmer or Udaipur.
Day-Wise Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Jaipur
Reach Jaipur by train, flight or road, and your driver will receive you. After check-in and rest, visit Hawa Mahal for photos and walk through the old market area. In the evening, visit Birla Mandir or enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Try dal baati churma if you like Rajasthani food.
Day 2: Jaipur Sightseeing
Start early with Amber Fort, because mornings are cooler and less crowded. Then visit City Palace, Jantar Mantar and Jal Mahal. Spend the evening shopping for jootis, block-print clothes and jewellery at Johari Bazaar. Overnight stay in Jaipur.
Day 3: Jaipur to Pushkar to Jodhpur (about 340 km)
Leave after breakfast. On the way, stop at Pushkar for a short visit to Brahma Temple and the holy lake. Have lunch here, then continue to Jodhpur. You will reach by evening, so relax at the hotel and walk around the Clock Tower market.
Day 4: Jodhpur Sightseeing to Jaisalmer (about 285 km)
Visit Mehrangarh Fort in the morning. It is one of the most impressive forts in India. Then see Jaswant Thada and have a quick lunch. After that, drive to Jaisalmer. The road passes through open desert land, and the golden sunset view is beautiful.
Day 5: Jaisalmer Local Sightseeing and Desert Experience
Explore Jaisalmer Fort, which is a living fort with shops, homes and temples inside. Visit Patwon Ki Haveli and Gadisar Lake. In the evening, go to Sam Sand Dunes for a camel ride, folk music and a night under the stars. Desert camp charges are usually extra.
Day 6: Jaisalmer to Udaipur (about 550 km)
This is the longest drive, so start early. The journey takes around 9 to 10 hours with breaks. You can take short stops on the way to rest. Reach Udaipur by evening and enjoy a quiet dinner near Lake Pichola.
Day 7: Udaipur Sightseeing and Departure
Visit City Palace, Jagdish Temple and Saheliyon Ki Bari. If time allows, take a boat ride on Lake Pichola. After this, you can end the trip at Udaipur airport or station. If you want to return to Jaipur, it is about 400 km and takes around 6 to 7 hours.
If you prefer a shorter city-based plan, a Jaipur- Udaipur- Jodhpur- Jaisalmer tour can also be adjusted to 6, 8 or 9 days as per your time.
